There's just as much reason to spend a certain amount to keep what decent players we do have, so they feel the club is trying to match their ambitions by surrounding them with quality players.

The price increases are a pisstake although mine have stayed the same for me and my boy but after speaking to a mate who’s got a season ticket at spurs for which he pays 1600 quid and is only a middle band seat I’ve got to say our prices aren’t bad in comparison. What I do have a problem with is if there is only 25 million available for players in the summer, although I did hear similar last season before we the window opened.

with a lot of owners I'd agree but if these 2 cunts were going to spend more they'd be screaming it from the rooftops

Re: next yrs season tkt details out
penners, Sullivan is on record as saying that we generate only slightly more on gate receipts than we did at Upton Park, gate receipts are a relatively small part of our turnover these days so it begs the question what's the point?

The move was all about vanity, some think that it's about maximising the return on their investment but they won't sell, why would Gold, he's 84 he'll never see the full benefit and Sullivan has stated that he'll pass it onto the rich kids in the future

£25m is a joke ern. What does that buy you? 1 decent championship player? Mitrovic will cost that on his own if we went for him.

Re: next yrs season tkt details out
All this plus player sale bullshit our budget is 25 fucking million which will comfortably be the lowest in the pl.

Re: next yrs season tkt details out
Out of interest, who are we selling to generate 60m in sales. Arnie I presume?

I also forgot Bournemouth's ground is tiny, so they must be pretty savy to get round ffp?

I dont necessarily have an issue with price rises, however there has to be huge justification. At a time where we are getting much larger attendances then at UP, have a bigger store etc, and the sky money is massive, how are we in this position financially?

Are fans seriously happy that we moved from our home for what is being served up? we've given every manager "time", however if he isnt going to be backed to take us to this mythical next level then whats the point?

To clarify, I meant C&H and Ex who have been quoting the £25m figure when I mentioned lackeys.

I agree, I fully expected the prices to go up. I don't see why they have to go up higher than the rate of inflation for the reasons given in my last post.

Re: next yrs season tkt details out

Im not lackey i will criticise just as i did in january not getting in cover players despite the injury situation.

The transfer budget is supposed to be £25m plus player sales which is estimated to be £85m.

the season ticket prices were held moving in for what 3 years? it was bound to go up eventually

stepney hammer 6:09 Tue Mar 12
Re: next yrs season tkt details out
diehardhammer 5:05 Tue Mar 12

I'd rather they said nothing. Instead they have sent their lackeys to 'manage expectations' of the fans.

So the transfer budget will likely be a quarter of what it was last summer and they'll soon be able to claw in revenue for an extra 9,000 seats that they did not have a year ago (bear in mind Bournemouth's stadium only holds 11,000 so this is quite a significant rise). Yet season tickets go up 10% and 52% respectively. How is that anything but a piss take? The maximum they should go up is the rate of inflation.

As for the £4 per game thing, you don't pay per game, you pay the lot up front. So in real terms it's £55 / £80 / £100 more than you had to drop at the same point last year (well two weeks earlier this time round). More if you take the kids as well.

At a time where season tickets account for less and less in terms of revenue on a club's balance sheet in comparison to TV money and sponsorship, this comes across as little more than greed on the part of the owners.

Don't get me wrong, I can afford the rise, and as I'm a cunt I'll most likely renew anyway, but I don't know why some are not seeing this for what it is and making excuses for the board here.

Re: next yrs season tkt details out

FFP is very complicated but to try and simplify it from how i understand it to work.

If west ham were to go out and spend the hypothetical figure of £150m which is roughly 85% of our turnover, that leaves £25m ish to pay for players wages, various club costs etc.

When you think Andy Carroll takes just under £5m alone, it shows how much that would impact the club.

Essentially means incurring a big loss for that year and then the club would have to make up that loss in 3 years or face a points deduction

penners28 6:02 Tue Mar 12
Re: next yrs season tkt details out
Have to admit, Im not totally up on FFP.....but surely this debunks the myth here?

Clubs can spend up to 5m euros (£3.9m) more than they earn per assessment period, although, under this monitoring period, total losses of 45m euros (£35m) were permitted as long as clubs had owners who could cover such amounts.

the loses are on a rolling 3 years as well.

Are you a politician by any chance? why do we have to tell anyone anything? Just spend the money and be done with it.

I wish i was one of those tossers earning 80k to do fuck all!! We do agree there i wish they would shut up and get on with it but this is sullivan

FFP is also a load of old bollox. so many teams get round it. look how much bournemouth spend for example

Some team's like city do get round it but they're under investigation etc now. Bournemouth's net spend was just under £30m in the summer?

If it was upto me i'd back penners point about going out and spending £150m etc but these FFP rules stop clubs from doing this anymore.

i still believe with a fully fit squad we are capable of challenging for europa - just need to cut out the ridiclous inconsistency and hopefully MP will get rid of players he doesnt want in summer

Considering what this could catapult the club into and the fact the move has proved we can fill the cunt i'd say were going to have to take a risk like the top clubs have to get where they needed to get.

We've done the move and bottled it otherwise, that won't keep 60,000 loyal for long.

arsene york-hunt 5:02 Tue Mar 12

Shame the club has invested unreasonably over its history and really now we've moved and are trying to keep 60,000 fans happy and in proportion are still investing tightly.

That's the perspective of it, if you want to stay within a reasonable budget fair enough, but don't move us to a place where we are told makes things possible because it's bigger because the first thing people will think will be bigger is the transfer spending to get top players in.

The owners should have kept us within their budget they are willing to invest and not moved OR EVEN tell us they will sell up once the agreement is done. Instead they stay tight and tell us this is going to be handed down the bloodline.

Re: next yrs season tkt details out

no im not saying that whatsoever, Fact is clubs are tightening up purses across the country

The issue is the club's turnover is £175m ish - due to the FFP rules we cannot go out and spend £150m (85% ish) without breaking the rules and incurring a points deduction
